Residents enjoy the peaceful, convenient location that’s walking distance from Kendall Indian Hammocks Park and the shops at The Palms at Town & Country. The CARF-accredited facility’s luxurious, upscale design includes detailed murals, skylights and gorgeous light fixtures. Specializing in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, the community uses a WanderGuard security system and has an on-site doctor’s office to help residents stay healthy and safe. The nutritional meal service includes the option of a continental breakfast and low-salt and pureed diet accommodations.

What Customers Like

Reviewers largely say the “Palace” aspect of this facility’s name holds up to their expectations – the grounds and accommodations are beautiful and residents’ needs are met with care and a smile. Maria writes, “My mom is a resident at the Palace Renaissance. We couldn’t be more thankful that we were able to place her there.

Sweet Living Facility is a tranquil and cozy assisted living home offering care for up to six residents. We selected this facility for our top 10 list for its excellent location that’s perfect for nature lovers and minutes from Tree Island Preserve, Trail Glades Range and Everglades Safari Park. The staff is highly knowledgeable about Alzheimer’s disease and memory impairments, and residents receive quality medical care as needed from an on-call physician and visiting medical personnel who provide physical and occupational therapies.  

What Customers Like

Reviewers say the staff consists of some of the sweetest and most caring people you’d be able to find anywhere. One reviewer writes, ‘My mother is doing wonderful in the community. She likes to sing and listen to music, so the staff plays music for her it is very nice to see her happy.”

What Customers Don’t Like 

Although reviewers say that the staff at Sweet Living Facility is great, they wish there were more of them. “There’s just one person watching after 8 people,” one reviewer writes. “She still does a fantastic job, but it is just so much work!”

A 24-hour staff is available to help with activities of daily living and specific health concerns, such as diabetes and the monitoring of residents’ insulin levels. Residents have the choice of private studios or companion suites and enjoy daily meals and shared common areas for conversation and group activities.

What Customers Like

This is a micro assisted living facility, and with that comes special attention in providing care. Gregory writes, “Manager is excellent. We can go to her for problems, questions, or complaints about abuse or neglect.”

What Customers Don’t Like 

This is a very small facility, and while some people much prefer this more individualized experience, others do well with more organized social activities and spending time with other people.

Westview Pleasant Living is a secured property, so reviewers with loved ones who need memory care and could be prone to wander feel safe with this facility. It has a nice home atmosphere.

Some people prefer to place their loved ones in larger communities that offer corporate-level amenities, such as activities, social events, and other services. This facility is better-suited for older adults who want to be in a calm and quiet atmosphere.

Residencia San Lazaro Home Care

Like some others in our list, this homelike community houses up to six residents. Staff members here encourage loved ones to visit often and participate in resident activities. We selected this cozy facility for its emphasis on family involvement and for helping residents stay active and connected. 

What Customers Like

Beyond cleanliness, which is noted as a major positive over and over again, reviewers appreciate that Residencia San Lazaro Home Care offers seniors the opportunity to stay active and get out of the facility on the weekends if they’d like. “On the weekends, you’re able to visit and take them out to eat, and I like that they have that choice,” writes Maria.

What Customers Don’t Like 

Although most reviews say good things about the staff at this facility, some reviewers feel the staff members are not as friendly or as professional as they would like. This, some reviewers say, affects the attitudes of the residents.

Transportation is available to take residents to medical appointments and on errands along the nearby S. Dixie Highway. For golf lovers, the Palmetto Golf Course is less than 2 miles away.

Reviewers appreciate the small size of this facility – it means their loved ones receive more individualized care and can enjoy peace and quiet. It’s also one of the more affordable options in the Miami area. 

What Customers Don’t Like 

Some reviewers say that while this facility is certainly nice, it is not the best choice for older adults who are still active. ML writes, “They weren’t totally bad, but they weren’t the best. My mom is still active, and residents were just sitting around.”

The building has a choice of private studios or shared companion suites and a shared living area for relaxation and socializing.

Eyea Palace Court is a quaint, one-story assisted living facility offering private and shared rooms to up to six residents aged 45 and older. Unlike some of the other facilities on our list, Eyea Palace Court is pet-friendly. The professional staff prioritizes the health, safety and well-being of each resident and provides medical monitoring and support with activities of daily living. We chose to include this facility in our list of Miami’s top 10 for its ideal location for nature and golf lovers, only 10 minutes from Trail Glades Range and Miccosukee Golf and Country Club.

What Customers Like

The small size of this facility allows residents to have attentive and personalized care. Luis writes, “We’ve been happy, the place is very clean, and the director is very attentive. My dad goes outside the facility for activities. The food looks homemade and good.”

A two-story Mediterranean-style home accommodating up to 14 residents aged 55 and over, Midtown Senior Care boasts beautiful outdoor patios with colorful benches and paved, shaded seating areas surrounded by lush plants for greenery and privacy. Less than 10 blocks from the popular Shops at Midtown Miami and near the vibrant, colorful Wynwood Walls, the facility’s neighborhood offers an abundance of dining and entertainment options. Area hospitals including Mt. Sinai and Jackson Memorial Hospital. We selected this facility for our list of Miami’s top 10 because of its unique service and safety amenities, including an electric lift chair, 24-hour video security and large, walk-in showers.

What Customers Like

Reviewers very much appreciate management at Midtown Senior Care. Management is described as “good people” and “trustworthy” – which means a lot for people who may otherwise worry about their loved ones. Claire writes, “Between the staff and the owner I can’t say enough good things about this place.” 

What Customers Don’t Like 

Reviewers cite cost as a top concern with this facility, but with all the great amenities and staff, it is unsurprising that Midtown Senior Care is a bit pricer than other facilities in the area. You get what you pay for!

Valdes Retirement Home I

Valdes Retirement Home I is a cute, colorful, pink-and-white assisted living home nestled in a quiet neighborhood that provides residents with an intimate, comfortable, family-like community. We chose this facility for our top 10 assisted living facilities in Miami because of the abundance of convenient amenities paired with its small, homelike size. Although it only serves up to six residents, seniors living at Valdes Retirement Home enjoy on-site beauty salon services and a backyard terrace and patio. Visiting musicians and frequent card games keep residents active, and the facility’s owner provides hands-on care. Residents are less than 1 mile away from Sunset Park and the many restaurants along SW 72nd Street.

What Customers Like

Reviewers agree Vales Retirement Home is a great community that provides compassionate care for their loved ones. One reviewer writes, “Mom enjoys the food, and when she doesn’t like it the chef brings her what she would like.”

What Customers Don’t Like
